For those of you who’ve always dreamed of going to Paris, but for some reason or another have yet to make it there, this one is for you…
I’ve always loved a brand that can stand the test of time. You know, one that doesn’t fall victim to the trendy “it look” of the season. Parisian born, Zadig et Voltaire is that brand. Sure, they do fun prints in cool colors, but the one thing that remains is that their rockery-chic apparel is timeless. From cashmere sweaters to lamé layers, this brand has something for everyone! I’m currently crushing on this killer hat!! It’s a summer essential that can easily transition into any fall wardrobe. The best part….it is now on SALE!!!
Have you been racking your brain trying to think of a festive cocktail to serve at your next holiday gathering? Well, worry no more. I have a budget friendly cocktail that will serve the masses, Cranberry Sangria. This recipe only takes about 5 minutes to make and even the most amateur bartenders can whip this up. Let’s get started!
- 1 bottle fruity red wine (I prefer Mirassou Pinot Nior)
- 2 cups pomegranate juice
- ½ cup brandy
- ½ cup Triple Sec
- ¼ cup simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water, heated until sugar dissolves, cooled)
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
- 1 large orange, halved and thinly sliced
- 1 green apple, cored, halved and thinly sliced
- 1 cup red grapes, sliced in half
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 48 hours before serving. Serve over ice. This recipe serves about 4-6.
As the winter months bring sweater weather, it also calls for a little extra pampering for our beauty regime. I am absolutely in love with the dark lip colors that have carried over from fall, but in order to pull this look off successfully, you need to show your lips some TLC. Start by using a lip exfoliator. I prefer e.l.f.’s lip exfoliator. It’s only $3 and you can pick it up at your local drug store. After exfoliating, moisturize with your favorite lip balm, after the balm has had a moment to absorb, apply any vampy fall color. May I suggest, Tom Form Lip Color in Violet Fatale. It’s my fav!
Unless you have taken up hibernation due to the cold weather, you have probably noticed the summer trend of cropped tops has carried over into the winter months. I have to admit, if done correctly, a la Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Biel; the trend is chic and sexy. I could possible love it more now then I did back in the warmer months. Just be careful, the trend can be tricky to pull off. Only show a minimal amount of skin, keep it simple, and you should be safe.
Today’s Fun Fitness Friday workout has me feeling the burn. Alex and I decided to go ice skating. For two hours, I burned a colossal 806 calories! I think this may become a winter weekly obsession! What did you do for your Fun Fitness Friday challenge? Leave a comment and let me know!
Karl Lagerfeld is known for his brooding face, mad design skills, and even his kitty, Choupette, but after Tuesday, he will be know for one more bizarre undertaking. Chanel announced Tuesday; via Twitter that Kristen Stewart has officially been named the new face of Chanel’s Paris-Dallas 2013 Métier d’Art Collection by posting a picture of the 23-year old actress and the brand’s creative force, Karl Lagerfeld. She made her debuted dawning a Chanel gray crop top, charcoal sweater tied around her waist, a pair of high-waisted apricot leather pants, and nude heels to pull the look together. Her predecessors are Blake Lively, Keira Knightley, and Diane Kruger; the one thing that these three women share that Kristen does not, simple…facial expressions. What was the brand thinking? Yes, K. Stew rose to fame with the Twilight saga, but after her cheating scandal, I feel as though that loyal following of fans is no more. If the brand wanted to shake things up a bit they could have gone with someone like, Miley Cyrus, granted that they could have gotten her to agree to keep her tongue in her mouth long enough to pose for a couple of pictures. I think someone like Lily Collins, Olivia Palermo, or Zoe Kravitz would have been a much better fit.
It’s that time again, Fun Fitness Friday! Today, my daughter and I decided to hit the lanes to knock down a few pins. Besides the grotesque foot ware, it was a lot of fun. Two hours and I burned 269 calories, not bad for a fun filled workout. What are you doing as your Fun Fitness Friday challenge?
